How to Switch Between Self-Guided and Chaperoned Tours in InstaShow+

InstaShow+ gives you full control over how your properties are shown—whether that’s a self-guided tour through InstaShow or a chaperoned showing with your team. Here’s how to switch between the two options using the desktop or mobile app.

Part 1: Switching from Self-Guided to Chaperoned

Step 1: Log into the Desktop Site

Start by logging into the InstaShow+ desktop site. From your dashboard, click on the Listings tab.

Step 2: Select the Property

Choose the property you want to update.

Step 3: Open the Hardware Tab

Click the Hardware tab at the top of the screen. This is where you manage locks.

Step 4: Remove the Lock

To convert the property to a chaperoned tour, select Instructions in Listing to remove the lock, then click Save.

Step 5: Update Access Instructions

Be sure to update your access instructions to reflect that there’s no lock in use.

Step 6: Adjust Availability Settings

Go to the Availability tab and update the Advanced Notice setting to remove InstaShow. If advanced notice was already enabled, you can skip this step.

Part 2: Switching from Chaperoned to Self-Guided

Step 7: Open the App or Desktop

You can enable InstaShow tours from either the mobile app or the desktop. In this example, we’ll use the app.

Step 8: Select and Edit the Property

Find the property, tap Edit under Listing Details, then open the Assign Locks tab.

Step 9: Assign or Add a Lock

Tap Edit next to Assign Locks to assign a new or existing lock. Don’t forget to upload lock photos—they’re required for self-guided access.

Step 10: Enable InstaShow

Once the lock is assigned, return to Availability Settings. Tap Edit, switch the Advanced Notice setting to InstaShow, and hit Save.

To invite someone without assigning them to a specific property, enter their email or phone number and tap Send Invite.

Step 4: What Happens Next

The invited user will receive a notification in their inbox with your request.

Step 5: Invite to a Specific Property

To add someone to help manage a property, go to the Properties screen and select the listing.

Step 6: Add a Property Team Member

Tap the plus sign under Property Team, enter their email or phone number, then tap Send Invite.

Step 7: Remove Someone from a Property

To remove a user from a property team, return to the same screen, tap the small X next to their name, and confirm.

Step 8: Remove Someone from Your Team (Desktop Only)

To fully remove a user from your overall team, log into InstaShow+ on desktop and open the Team tab.

Step 9: Final Removal

Check the box next to the user’s name, open the Actions menu, and select Delete. Confirm—and they’ll be removed.

A pop-up will appear with the lead’s contact details, so you can reach out and keep the conversation going.

Step 1: Enable Location Services

Before you can schedule or begin a tour, make sure location services are turned on for your device.

Step 2: Explore the Map

With location access enabled, you’ll see nearby properties on the map. From here, you can schedule a tour or even start an InstaShow instantly.

Step 3: Select a Property

Found something interesting? Tap Schedule Tour. If the property is open for instant access, you’ll also see a See It Now option. For this walkthrough, we’ll focus on scheduling a tour.

Step 4: Choose Your Tour Type

Choose how you’d like to tour:

• Agent with a Prospect
• Individual

You can also choose if the listing owner should attend. In this example, select Individual and No, I prefer a self-guided tour.

Note: Some properties may require tokens for access.

Step 5: Set Date, Time & Attendees

Select your preferred date and time, then input how many people will be joining—like friends or family.
Heads-up: Some listings may limit attendee numbers.

Step 6: Tour Scheduled!

That’s it—your tour is locked in! You’ll get a confirmation along with all the details you need for a smooth showing.

2. Enable Location Services

Before scheduling or starting a tour, be sure to enable location services on your device. This ensures you can see nearby properties and access location-specific features.

3. Explore the Map View

With location services turned on, you’ll see available properties in your area on the map. From here, you can schedule a tour—or start one immediately.

4. Select ‘See It Now’

If you’re already at a property and ready to tour, tap See It Now to begin your InstaShow.
Note: Some listings may require tokens for access.

5. Choose Your Tour Type

Next, you’ll choose between Agent with Prospect or Individual. For self-guided tours, select Individual.

6. Start Your Tour

Tap Start Tour to begin the process.

7. Complete Selfie Verification

To confirm your identity, you’ll be prompted to take a quick selfie. Once verified, you’ll move on to the next step.

8. Review Access Instructions

You’ll now see any specific access instructions provided by the listing agent. These help ensure a smooth entry.

9. View Lock Location

Photos will show you exactly where to find the lock. Once located, tap Yes to continue.

10. Agree to Property Guidelines

Before entering, agree to the Respect the Property terms by tapping I Agree.

11. Unlock the Property

To unlock the door:

• Wake the lock by pressing a button or keypad.
• Tap Connect in the app.
• Wait for confirmation, then access will be granted.
  Note: Instructions may vary slightly by lock model.

12. Tour in Progress

Your InstaShow is now active. If you finish early, tap Complete Tour. Need more time? Tap the timer icon to extend—if no tour conflict exists.

13. Exit Instructions & Feedback

Once your tour ends, you’ll receive any exit instructions and a quick feedback form. Tap Continue to move on.

14. Final Notes

Some listings may include additional information before wrap-up. Tap Continue and—just like that—you’ve completed your first InstaShow+ tour!

Step 5: Generate a Manual Pin Code

Need one-time access? Tap Open Lock, then select Request Manual Code. A secure, unique pin will be generated immediately for safe entry.

Step 6: Ready to Delete a Lock?

To remove a lock, head back to your lock list and tap the device you’d like to delete.

Step 7: Edit Lock Settings

On the Lock Details screen, tap Edit in the top-right corner.

Step 8: Confirm Deletion

Tap Delete, then confirm by selecting Yes. Your lock has now been successfully removed from your account.

Step 1: Open the My Tours Tab

Once you’re logged into the app, head to the My Tours tab at the bottom of the screen. This is where you’ll find a list of all your upcoming showings. Tap the tour you want to update.

Step 2: Tap Modify

On the tour details screen, you’ll see several options: View Listing, Modify, and Contact. To make changes, tap Modify.

Step 3: Choose to Reschedule

You’ll now see options to reschedule the tour, cancel it, or update the number of attendees. To reschedule, just tap Reschedule.

Step 4: Pick a New Date and Time

Select your new time slot, then tap Reschedule to confirm. That’s it—your updated tour is now locked in.

Step 5: Prefer to Cancel?

If canceling is the better option, return to the Modify screen and tap Cancel Tour instead.

Step 6: Select a Reason

Choose the reason for the cancellation from the list provided, then tap Continue.

Step 7: Confirm Cancellation

You’ll be asked to confirm. Tap Yes, and the tour will be officially canceled.
